Custodes on the codex
The early prices from 6 October were right for every unit but one size of Witchseekers, so a Custodes list you built last week costs the same today unless it has nine Witchseekers (now 100) or one of the units that moved to Legends.
- New names. Custodian Guard are now the Custodian Guard Sodality, Aquilon Custodians the Aquilon Terminators with Solarite Power Gauntlets, and the Sisters of Silence squads the Prosecutor, Vigilator and Witchseeker Squads. Lists you already have keep working; pasted lists with the old names still import.
- Venatari are priced by loadout: 270 with lances, 255 with kinetic destroyers. The app works it out from the weapons you pick.
- Moved to Legends: Agamatus Custodians, Aleya, Custodian Guard with adrasite and pyrithite spears, Sagittarum Custodians, Valerian, the Venerable Contemptor Dreadnought and the Venerable Land Raider. Turn on Legends to keep using them.
- Every enhancement is priced, so all 29 can be bought, and each now shows its own rule. Superior Creation follows GW’s Custodes errata (once per battle, per army).
Other points
- Exorcist (Adepta Sororitas): 175, down from 180.
Faction Pack and errata updates
GW refreshed the Adepta Sororitas, Adeptus Mechanicus, Aeldari, Imperial Agents, Leagues of Votann and Tyranids Faction Packs, and published errata for Codex: Space Marines and Codex: Adeptus Custodes. Most of their changes were already in the app; these are the ones that weren’t:
- Adepta Sororitas: Penitent Host’s Vows of Atonement are picked at the start of your Command phase and last until your next one. The Triumph of Saint Katherine sets the Miracle dice you gain at the start of your turn to 6.
- Adeptus Mechanicus: Guided Retreat is used when a unit is picked to fall back, and lets Halo Override units re-roll hazard rolls. The Onager’s dissipated eradication beam is Strength 9.
- Aeldari: Unshrouded Truth’s ingress move works in your first turn too. A Farseer and Eldrad Ulthran can now lead a Warlock Conclave.
- Imperial Agents: the Callidus’ neural shredder loses Precision and gains Blast 2.
- Tyranids: the Swarmlord’s Malign Presence works once per turn, whoever your Warlord is.
- Space Marines: Iron Father Feirros and the Techmarine give Lone Operative to themselves, not to the unit they lead.
- Adeptus Custodes: Superior Creation, as above.
Space Marine datasheets from the codex
Added later on 14 October. The rules source the app reads now carries Codex: Space Marines for every chapter, so datasheets, weapon names and options follow the codex: Intercessors carry Knives and Fists, and weapons with firing modes go by the codex’s names. Where our reading of the printed codex differs from that source, ours stays: the Lieutenant in Phobos Armour’s scoped bolt carbine keeps Strength 5, AP -1, Assault and Rapid Fire 1.
- Your lists. The melta Eradicators, Invader ATVs, Marneus Calgar, and the Black Templars’ Sternguard, Terminators and Land Raider Crusader moved to new entries. Saved lists move with them, but those units go back to their default weapons, so re-pick any upgrades.
- Legends stay. 158 Legends units the rules source dropped — the old Tactical, Devastator and Assault Squads, Captain Tycho, Long Fangs, the Chaos legions’ Forge World vehicles — are still in the app behind the Legends toggle, at the same points.
- Older lists still import. A list written before the codex still finds its units and weapons under their old names.
- Weapons with firing modes now come with every mode when an option names just one, so the Squiggoth’s kannon and the Astraeus’ plasma eradicators show both.
Not in yet
- New Custodes units: the Sentinel Guard Sodality, Gyrfalcon Jetbike Sodality and Caladius Annihilator have prices but no datasheets we can show yet. Aquilon Terminators with power talons (275) are built from the gauntlet unit for now, so they cost 10 too many.
- Dread Host’s Auric Exemplar is priced and can be bought, but its rule wasn’t in the coverage we read; check your codex.
- A few Faction Pack changes wait for the rules export: Aeldari’s Sudden Strike (now on ending a charge, lasting the turn), the Parasite of Mortrex’s Shadow in the Warp, the Harpy losing Hover, the Aquila Kill Team leaving the Imperial Agents pack, Inquisitors no longer leading Deathwatch Kill Teams, and new transport capacities.
StarCraft: To War and list export
- To War. The button 40k armies have is now on StarCraft armies too. It opens a view for the table: your units by slot, each opening to its stats and the weapons and abilities it actually carries, your Faction and Tactical Cards with their boosts, and your Mission and Deployment Cards.
- Export List. The share button gives Tournament, Full and Short text formats, with Copy and Save .txt, the same as 40k lists.
